@loco - I feel the IQ from the K-1 is so much improved from any Pentax that came before it that any image from it is superior, no matter how much you need to crop. The increased dynamic range and total lack of chroma noise until you hit silly high ISOs means you barely have to touch NR in post. A full frame from a K-1 is 7392x4950 pixels. This bee shot was cropped down to 1000 on the long side for PF and hasn't lost much.
Thank you for the info! It does look terrific!

Hey, no worries, mate!

Was just concerned lest the thread be run off-topic subsequently. Cheers.

Sorry for the large file... but the details on the 15-30 are amazing.
Great photo! What happened there?

Can you tell me about 15-30's infinity stop? Is it well calibrated or need some tweaks when focusing manually?

Gotta love a squirrel in your face.....I was just thinking...we need more squirrels here!

Stepped out on my deck for a few minutes and let the mosquitoes nibble on me.....you know, out from behind my desk and office windows I can get a lot better detail, even with the Bigma.

Reds are very good on the K1.

Here is a Jpeg squirrel...it's OK, but lacks the pop of a Raw shot.

Regards!

I had to play a little, in the end I put it at infinity then back off slightly to get FG in focus. I did not do proper tests to see if infinity focus = infinity or beyond.

Ditto! I just love the K1!

Lots of little young birdies here, learning to fly and stretching their little wings.

Young Bluejay

Squealing for her mommy!

Mama Raccoon cleaning out the leftovers in the squirrel feeder.

It was almost dark but the K1 focused perfectly with the Bigma mounted.

Regards! ..Great camera!
