Great lens.....I have the same (?) lens in the M42 mount. Still waiting for a FF camera to shoot it with.

Hi all

Taken with the K-1 and... what do you think of these pictures.
I'll explain once I have had some comments from you learned members.

Cheers

Hi Rupert

You have never shot better pictures and the colour is good too. I think you've found your perfect match.

What a great model! You are very fortunate!

My shots pale in comparison to most here, but I agree they are better than my usual. I love this camera so much! I think the biggest difference for me is the ease of getting shots I once struggled with great difficulty to get. No, it is not your old Pentax.....it is whole new ballgame!

Love your kitty cat....that is one the squirrels would not mind having around!

Best Regards!

Amazing shots, kengoh! Especially the second one!

Has it been determined how well the DA 1.4x TC works with the K-1? I mean, obviously, this shot looks amazing. Did you have to crop it? Is it fully full frame compatible? I was thinking of getting one eventually to use with my DA*300 on the K-1.

(Apologies to kengoh for getting your name wrong!! I've corrected it. )
Thanks loco.
Yes the DA 1.4x TC works great with my Sigma 500/4.5 and DA*300, they are both full frame compatible, can't remember if there's vignetting, maybe very very slight...? But for birding we will crop after the shot anyways.

kengoh, Excellent shots. I have the feeling that this camera is placing a lot of smiles on a lot of faces.
Thanks gaweidert, I can't agree more that K1 will make a lot of Pentaxian smiles.

I know old Rupert...and he's no Kengoh (Aren't his shots wonderful!) but old Rupert is pretty damn happy with what he gets from the K1!
This is a fine camera...in the hands of a Pro like Kengoh or an amateur like me, it is wonderful to use! I haven't had so much camera fun in ages!
Regards!
Thanks James, you are doing well with your K1 too.

HD DA1.4 in combination with longer FL FF lenses definitely is not really full frame compatible IMO. Some hints about this topic you can find here.

Another try today (Pentax monthly outing for May)

Pixel shift, this time using PDCU.

I think I sharpened it up a bit in the PDCU, but overall I think this is the software to better make use of the PixS file.
The quality of the sensor (whatever Pentax did to it) and the Samyang 14/2.8 is incredible to me.

Go to the largest file :
https://www.flickr.com/photos/29329237@N07/26540322334/sizes/o/

Even license plates and info off the tourist info center on the bottom left corner is readable.

Not a small feat for any 14-15mm lens.
