I shot an engagement party for a friend last night, and as I haven't forked out for the DFA24-70 yet I press-ganged my DA*16-50 into crop mode on the K-1. It still goes OK.
Incidentally, the AF540FGZII seems to have considerably less lag in P-TTL than it does on the K-3.

Engaged!
Very nice shots. sharp sharp...
I see the skintones have changed from first to second image. Most probably a WB thing.
Quite obvious when looking at the girl's hair. Blonde on the second shot, not so much on the first..

She had quite a strong spray tan, which looked a bit weird against her friend. I tried to tone it down a bit in the top shot, which must have washed the honey out of her hair.

Came upon this Ruffed Grouse on the side of the road while driving out in the boonies today. I was too close for crop mode with the DA*300 + HD1.4 TC so I switched to FF mode. This is a square crop from the FF to take away the vignetted corners and balance the subject. Plenty of feather detail with the K-1. 1/1500s, f/8, ISO3200.

Pixel shift test with lots of moving parts.

Wanted to test the pixel shift and see how it responded to moving vehicles. One in color and one in the monochrome filter. It was very windy and with a 4 second exposure I was concerned movement of the tripod was going to affect the image.
The amount of detail is crazy.

Nice moon here a few nights back. Best shot shown first taken with K1, DA300 and 2X Kenko PZAF 1/1000 F5 ISO800. Second shot was with the FA300/4.5 and shows that the old lens still does a good job (though it will be on the market soon to finance the 24-70). The K1 still selected crop mode with the teleconverter attached so the output was 4800X3200. The flip up screen works well with live view for this type of shot when the moon is overhead. %100 crops from camera jpegs, no PP.

A few pages back there was sort of a question about the difference between full frame and APS-C with regard to distortion, or something like that.

This is the DA *55 on the K-1 at f2.8

This is the FA 31 on the K3 at f2

The 55 shot is a little sharper because it is f2.8 versus f2 (I wanted to keep images relatively equivalent). Anyway, its a little comparison, for what its worth.

Misty Morning (with DFA 100 macro)
