Moon over Newcastle

A good time to capture the moon at the moment with moonset being after sunrise. Captured using the DA*300

Some notes:

  • Tripod mounted with SR off there was still some blur with shutter speeds ranging from 1/125s-1/320s, this type of image might require Mirror Lock-up to avoid this however the wind could have been causing some issues with vibration though normally I can see this in LV or through the viewfinder.
  • There was the smallest amount of vignetteing in the corners that was noticeable in the sky. This was easily fixed in PP.

Hard to put a finger on one item. It's probably a combination of a slightly different color rendering, dynamic range, detail recording. If asked to describe it - I'd fail. Maybe impossible to pick out the K1 images from a set of 50 taken with K1, K3, K5, even K20, but somehow the K1 images posted here look slightly different to my eye. Maybe it's wishful thinking.

Agreed. They have some type of clarity and color rendering that is so pleasing!
I am waiting for second batch to hit stores before placing an order

Stuart, your work with this new camera is fantastic. I look forward to viewing each new post.

Your best friend is often the highlight of each new installment. The look, the manner in which he carries himself, he knows how to pose.

He looks like a great companion.

He also makes me think of my late girl Zoë. <<<<{click}

I miss her every day, even though it has been 9 years. I never thought I would have another, but seeing yours is stirring something inside me.

I only need to convince Mrs. Racer. See, I had Zoë before I met her. In the beginning of our relationship she admitted to being jealous of Zoë.

It might be easier to get her to let my buy a K-1.

I love his doggy too...great to see him here. Fine shots from Stuart!

I have no doggies but have plenty of great memories of those that have gone to Doggie Heaven.

I do have lots of little buddies though...and they love to pose too!

"What's up guys?"

Regards!

Great pics everybody! I think that the K-1 has raised the image quality level quite a bit!

Another macro shot from me:

Very Nice!
Last one is so detailed...hard to believe it was shot at 630mm.
Did you use a TC?
