Speaking of the A 20, it can actually do nice starbursts - maybe not as readily or 'in your face' as a DA15, but this one made a dramatic appearance...at f/4! The SR system did nice things for me too, 0.3s, hand-held.

The A 20 probably doesn't like rain much, so I had the DA* 55 on most of the time on this night. I had the hood on to keep the rain off the front element, and I did notice more vignetting than usual (before I added more of my own in PP).

Amazingly, the K-1 lens light was quite useful for seeing the lens aperture on my K lenses. (I had to work fast as I was in a country cemetery by myself.... with only so much courage ....15 minutes worth as it turned out.... a good ceremony is a quick ceremony anyhow...)

Great night sky shot! Did you use the astrotracer feature for this? 60 seconds and no trails is awesome

I am humbled David.

I typically open a day's work in Adobe Bridge. Eyeball some interesting combos, then open either singles or brackets together (as the case may be) in ACR.

First goto lens profile and pull in the Tamron 15-30 (since there is no DFA 15-30 profile yet) , apply color fringe reduction and correct perspective in the ,Manual tab.

I (95%) typically do a variation of the following

Reduce highlights to -85, whites +20 to compensate. Lift shadows, then goto next Tab and play this game again, making sure there is needed exposure in shadows, and that the highlights are not blown or over-powering.

Then I will make it monochrome and eyeball the composition and crop

Then put back colors and decide what mood to give the shot, here I will play with WB and Tint

After that I make sharpness +35 and NR +25

I will sometimes make De-haze +25 to 40 depending if the shot has flat lighting. During this, Blues might get overdone and blacks too... I re-adjust WB and also reduce clarity to adjust that effect.

I will then eyeball the shot and see if it needs local adjustments, this will will do with Radial filter or Gradient filter

At this point I open it in Photoshop

Here unless I need to merge brackets, I do very little, except to sharpen micro contrast (less than 1 pixel pitch)

Then save a full res version, and then a smaller version for sharing.

This covers 95% of what I will do. There are variations ofcourse.

I used to use LR when I took many many shots in a day, but found it a bit cumbersome and slow. The Bridge/PS combo is faster and more selective as I get more selective in shooting...
