As always, very impressive work in this thread! Tas, that Zeiss lens is amazing. And Rondec, your landscapes are gorgeous!

I've been trying my hand at macro with the K-1 the past couple days. These were taken with the Panagor 90mm/2.8 manual lens. I believe all were f/11 and all were handheld. One day I'd love the get the D FA 100 macro, just because I wouldn't have to use stop-down metering. But the Panagor is a fantastic bargain and quite sharp.

A few Tyrolean landscape, having fun :-) :-) :-) with the in camera ADVHDR (jpeg converted by camera) that comes out pretty well. For the waterfall, I shot f22 because I did not have any ND filter, no problem with diffraction on 24x36.

Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I bet there's images you've captured that I could return the compliment for.

At the time I was glad the two people walked along when they did and I chased getting them into frame with the rest of the scene. The images I took without them don't work when compared with this image.

I can understand the need for two people. They create an anchor for your eyes.

Thanks a lot.

The water fall was taken at the so called "Krimmler Wasserfälle", the highest waterfall in Austria (about 380 meters).

Just arrived this Memorial Day morning, my new Tamron 70-200 2.8 Can't wait to get out an about with it!

Test shot at 2.8 in my office....this is a very sharp lens!

Though not a wildlife lens, it did shoot a squirrel at 2.8. He complained loudly about the "girly" pastel bokeh.

Maybe I can get some variety in my shots with the 70-200? ...just need to get rid of the lazies and get out there!

Regards!

Nice shot.

I am heading west starting tomorrow. I have to stop in Brainard. MN and Bismarck, ND first to deal with a few items. but the good lord willing I will be able to get to Yellowstone too. I have been there 5 times and still haven't driven the road to the NE entrance. I will take care if this either in the next few weeks, or later in July when I should be back out that way again.

I plan to stop in Billings to see if Camera Cottage has a K1 for sale. If they do it could be a world record for the longest drive by car to purchase a K1. 1848 miles or 2974 kilometers. I did get a Nest gimbal head from them last year.

The drive over the Beartooth Pass is called the "All American Highway" and is a great way to enter YNP and the Lamar Valley which has been called "America's Serengeti."

Give Carter a call at the Camera Cottage and maybe he can put one aside for you.

Yes, he rode his pushie up to the lighthouse and I guess he wanted to get a photo from a good angle of his bike in front of the lighthouse for Facebook or something like that.
