Bigma 50-500 HSM OS - Using K1 SR because it is better than OS!

My true confession.......I am mostly a K1 Crop Mode shooter. I like it, it works well for me and I am not ashamed. I have several FF lenses and more on the way, but for my wildlife Bigma shooting, crop shooting rules! I know there is a stigma attached to lowly crop shooters, but I don't care...I love it! It's sort of like being a "crop duster" instead of a "fighter pilot"......but it's still a ton of fun!

This little guy remembers where the peanut butter was yesterday! Seems to make him happy!

Looks like he found a tiny bit left?

Regards!

K-1 paparazzied the raucous Mr Beef contest this year, just as the K-x, K-5, and K-3 had before it.

Contestant No. 5, Mr Beef contest 2016
Pentax K-1, Tamron 28-75mm, ƒ/4.5, 28.0 mm, 1/160, ISO 400

P-TTL flash (Metz 52-AF1) was reliable, K-1 AF gave nothing to complain about, camera metering was good. Tamron lens has lots of front-focus on K-1, but at f3.5/f4 it was OK at all distances.

She just wouldn't stick around for better poses with my new Tamron 70-200 2.8. Mrs Rupert hollering out the window for her to "move along" didn't help.......

All the natural sky tones are perfect! Crop mode is so handy!

Mama came back for another shot....she must have known Mrs Rupert went to the store?

This Tamron 70-200 is so sharp wide open...I need to do some practice with it...I'm not used to this much sharpness in low light!

She is well fed and healthy! She is not afraid of me, but runs like the devil when Mrs Rupert steps outside!

Regards!

Rupert, you are terrible! I'm torn between FA 31mm and Tamron 70-200, and did not win the lottery yet.

A few Tyrolean landscape, having fun :-) :-) :-) with the in camera ADVHDR (jpeg converted by camera) that comes out pretty well. For the waterfall, I shot f22 because I did not have any ND filter, no problem with diffraction on 24x36.
That is some exceptional framing. Beautiful.

During my travels in the U.S. I have never come across food markets and I really don't know if they exist, though I suspect they do. Here in Melbourne, as well as in other cities in Australia, they are still very popular.
Seattle has the Pike Place Market. You name it, they have it.

Everett, 30 miles to the North also has a smaller farmer's type market. Local hobby farmers bring fresh fruit and vegetables to sell. Sometimes fresh whole milk can be found, local honey, eggs, etc.

All across the US cities and towns have similar markets. One must know where to look.
