300 vs 150-450

Hi KENGOH-- I was wondering you opinion how how well the da 300 stacks up IQ-wise against the DFW 150-45- @ $300. I cant afford both, and am leaning towards the 150-450.

Thoughts?

K1 with 35mm LTD at lowest resolution jpeg, 372KB

This is the result of the lowest resolution jpeg image straight out camera at 372KB. A long wat from the typical 25MB image, yet remarkably detailed.

Straight out the camera, no PP cropping (but yes, camera cropped), image size 372KB
I have noticed (35mmLTD) that even at f8 there is some vignetting, but is mostly notably against bright backgrounds. I had some shots wide open where I did not notice it.
I might add, that due to the huge files at raw and max JPEG, which is too much for casual email, I have User 1 mode set for small Jpegs, which is set to auto cropped. Not every snap needs all that information.

Must be nice to be able to delegate ones personnel hygiene..... the DFA 150-450 on the K-1 works quite well at the Zoo

Original Poster
Something different. I was playing with a large mirror lens yesterday. Here are some results with the MTO 1000AM on the K-1:

1. Sparrow about 20m away (cropped to about 40% of original)
2. High flying airplane (non cropped - It was clear that it is a "Thomas Cook" aircraft)
3. A seagull more than half a mile away and about the same distance with the background hill (cropped to about 30% of original - donuts bokeh all over the place)
4. A collared dove about 25m away (non cropped)
