Hard to follow those but here are my first try with the new camera. The top 3 are with a new K 2/28 as well. The last was with the DA 300.

Da 55-300

Surprised to find that the DA 55-300 is actually doing quite well on the K-1.

How do you think Pentax continous manual focus speed holds up to the Nikon D810? We all know that is crucial for this kind of shots!

No doubts there FS....the squirrels are the winners in that set! They told me they were!

I am noticing the shots here are getting much better as time passes and everyone is learning the magnitude of the K1's fantastic abilities......which are magnificent.

Though not one of the Pro quality shooters here, I still benefit from the amazement of the K1. Just yesterday my squirrels approved the use of Jpegs from the K1 for posting...so that pretty much settles any question of K1 Jpeg quality!

This little Jpeg girly squirrel was posing for an ad for Weightwatchers Monthly....and her goal is to gain twice her size by winter so she can just sleep through the cold months......I am betting she reaches her goal by August?

Isn't she lovely! Even shot in Crop Mode and cropped again in processing, she looks gorgeous!

That little grin was from her watching me bring out more corn.....

Regards!.....what wonderful shots are appearing here...doesn't it make for great viewing and encourage us all to push our K1 abilities!

Rupert, I noticed while peeking at your EXIF, that your OOC JPG Sharpness=Normal... The conventional wisdom has been posted to use Fine Sharpness, but set it to minus 3.

So, I tried that, and it didn't look near as good to my eyes as regular sharpness... and to make matters more interesting, I also noted that if you crank Fine Sharpness up at all, you get the dreaded sharpening halo, where as with regular sharpness, it just looks sharper when you crank it up, might eventually see some JPG artifacts, but no halo like with Fine Sharpness.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else noticed anything like this or am I nuts?

Your squirrel does look like a bit of a cover girl... second question, does she use a blow dryer to get that fluffy coat?

Thanks,
Eric
