It was dark out here....real dark! A small porch light in the distance....Nope, they aren't perfect and not even decent but they were fun to shoot and the K1 did not fail to focus enough for a few shots.

They come every night ....The Mom & Dad and now four babies that are big enough to travel with them. These are fun loving critters...my yard is like a circus every night. Very healthy too! I feed them well!

Bigma 50-500...not the best for night shooting, but it was what I had mounted....1/50 handheld ISO 12800

Mama

Babies....not so little anymore.

Waiting for a handout...he got it!

I could do better if Mrs Rupert would hold a light on them for me, but she refuses to come out when they are around.....says they are dangerous "killers". Heck, these are just friendly fun loving little rascals!

Regards!

Fireworks Landscape taken with Pentax K-1 and Pentax-M 120/2.8 by Jason Doss, on Flickr

A 30 second exposure through double paned glass on July 4th. Fireworks in all directions, as far as we could see.

Great raccoons, Rupert! Finally got my own K-1 the other day. So far only stupendously boring, albeit remarkably sharp, test shots.

Breathtaking Cockatoo, Adrian!

Congratulations JVA...with you and FS here it will be like old times! The raccoons shots were not my best, but the circumstances were horrible. I'm gonna mount my 540 flash and use my new Tammy 70-200 2.8 tonight and see if I can do better?

Good to see you here!

Here is one I shot this morning......not the best shooting light but it shows how hot it is here....they all keep their wings out to dissipate the heat.....

This little guy was the friendliest...hope he comes back around tonight....I have some good treats for him!

Regards!

Excellent shots FS......do love that little birdie......hope he survives your culinary talents. I also enjoyed your last set posted very much. I see you take advantage of the Crop Mode quite often.......good for you!

They wear the mask so they can't be identified in the event of foul play attributed to them. When they ate all my neighbors peaches off his prize peach tree, we did an ID lineup and he failed to pick out the culprit...said they all looked the same......Pretty smart little guys!

I´ve had K-1 for few weeks now and I'm loving it.
Due to work and other issues I have not been able to get out as much as I'd like, but here's one from my recent trip to Bolivia.

More of the bandits.....I was going to get out the flash unit later tonight, but the Mama decided to come early while there was a little daylight left so I could get some better shots. I let her know I appreciated it!

Thank you Mama!

Yep ...your babies are the cutest!

These are fun critters. It's just like having a circus in your yard. Easy going and friendly, but awesome powerful and very defensive of their babies.......not much wants to tangle with a Mama or Papa raccoon.

Tonight they are having a pizza and some avocados...their favorite meal!

Regards!

Having the opportunity to get the best shots takes time, meanwhile, below an attempt to a landscape photo: Durlassboden reservoir, Gerlos, Austria.
