That's an excellent shot of the pup. Mine would be trying to lick my lens (with varying degrees of success )
Thanks. I certainly hope not! I'll try to restrain myself.

The shot took a few tries and treats!

No because I just got my K-1 back today from six weeks in the shop and converted the Leitz while it was gone but I plan to take more now!
I also have a Elmarit 135/2.8 that I converted to K and they are both nice and focus just got easier with the K-1's focus peaking.

The bokeh is buttery smooth on both lenses from what I have seen so far.

This might be my fav from that hike last week, a green heron, stalking some fish in the underbrush.

Awesome shots! I love that you are able to shoot down on some of these planes and catch a background other than the sky.

Thank you Rondec! I always aim at different backgrounds varying from uncommon skies to landscapes but as you know it's difficult to find many such opportunities. This air show is over a small port with an amphitheatric city standing above it, so there are many chances for uncommon frames from some high spots around the port

I really loved the performance of my K-1 in my first air show and that is also important! As I'm getting used to it and the differences with my K-5IIs and shooting FF Vs crop cameras we will be improving!

Very nice pics. I really love the bottom one the most. There was thread here somewhere someone arguing that you can't take good air show pics with K-1 or Pentax gear.
I wish that person would see this pictures. These are good as they get, top notch.
I was playing with 150-450 mm lens in the store when I was buying my K-1. This lens is on my wish list for sure.

Thank you cleaverx! Those people who claim that you can't shoot airshows with Pentax equipment just make me laugh. What people tend to forget is that what counts at the end of the day is the quality of the pictures, not the AF performance (I found the K-5IIs adequate for the job and K-1 more than adequate) or things found in technical charts. That's the reason why in the hands of an experienced photographer a D810 will always give better results than a D5 to give you the Nikon relevant example.

The DFA 150-450 is to me the best tele zoom for the K-1 at this moment if we don't count the exotic FA* 250-600 from the past. You should buy it and you won't regret it! What I really need to take full advantage of the K-1 superb image quality is a long and bright prime. Pentax has a rich heritage in this sector too, I wait for the revival of some of those legendary lenses

Finally, you are getting closer to moon shots I like.....most of it is not visible...just keep improving and soon all of it will be black!

Here is a little birdie I liked but the shot is pretty noisy. I really don't think the K1 is all that much better than my K5IIs at high ISO low light shots......but it it tons better at AF even in low light.

Regards!

I decided to limit myself to the K1, FA 31 ltd, and AF 540fgz last weekend. I'm pretty impressed with that combo. I think it will become my anime con combo. Here's 10 from the con. All but the last were taken wide open at f/1.8, but some were definitely cropped! I took over 100 and had fun!

The second picture, room with chairs, is a wonderful composition. Colors and tonal range are on the button.
