I bought the Tamron 70-200/2.8 just for portraits and weddings but oh well, one can take good wildlife photos with it as well

Here are some shots from today. Top shot of Bald Eagle with clear eye and then shot of Bald Eagle with nictitating membrane closed. Nice to see the cropping ability of K-1.
Some birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, and mammals have three eyelids – two similar to ours, and a third translucent or transparent eyelid, called a nictitating membrane. This membrane moves horizontally from the inside corner to the outer edge of the eye, much like a windshield wiper, when needed for protection, to clear debris, or to moisten the eye.

Shot with K-1 and SMC 500mm f/4.5
impressive details ! We hear so often "those old glass can't handle high resolution sensor bla bla bla ..." this shot show so much the contrary ! And it's even funnier when you consider the quite simple optical formula !

Really awesome

Aurora season has begun! Couple of quickly edited shots from last nit (location was northern Finland)

I was suprised how well the Sigma 18-35/1.8 worked in FF-mode in these shots..

So the Sigma 18-35 works on FF? I wonder why usually is not taken into account when discussing available wide angle options. How is it at 18mm?

Spooky, But I like it!

He wanted all to see his never ending bravery...

"Goin' out on a limb can raise the hair on your back!"

"But the leader always goes first!"

Regards! ........a few words on the K1...it is so wonderful to see an opportunity for a shot you know you have only a few seconds to get, pick up the K1 with Bigma mounted, turn it on and get instant focus....no delay, no hunting, just instant focus confirmation. Never had a Pentax before that would do this with the big ol' slow Bigma....and it is wonderful!
