First shoot with the K-1 and FA77. IDK if it's any better than the K-3 but here goes.

The good news is Helah said it was the best shoot she has ever done! For the record that means the most fun because she has way better stuff than this in her portfolio but she wants to shoot with me in a garden next month!

Had this on the clipboard, and I guess it qualifies in both senses

I'm not sure what that's all about...but I am sure I really like it!

This year I have a lot of Jays...loud and noisy birds, a little pushy and pretty nervous and jittery, but they are good to sound the alarm when a stray cat or snake is in the area.

Regards!

After 10 long weeks Ricoh/Sun Camera have finally managed to return my camera with a functioning mode dial!

In celebration I picked up a shiny new HD D-FA 24-70 f/2.8 WR, no more slumming it up with Sigma 24-60.

Glad to see you got it back Mock...and that's a very nice and colorful shot too! Must have been tough without your K1.

We definitely thank you Eaglem! Otis asks about Hubble all the time......and he loves that little smile he has...sort of like "ain't I somethin' special!"...and of course, he is!

Thanks! Here are a couple of additional late evening shots. The K1 has extended my shooting time, not so much with better ISO but the fact it will focus so nicely in very low light...gotta love that!

"Why are you lookin' at me?"

These are the sweetest little birdies! Never cause any problems.

Give Hubble our best regards!

Beautiful Jay, Rupert! Loved the booked in the last post too. I've been under the weather for a few days, but decided a little sunlight and fresh air would do me good. Here are a few shots of an odd bit of modern architecture near where I live and people out enjoying a perfect late summer day.

Here's one more from my Black Canyon visit last weekend. This was with Pixel Shift enabled and it looks pretty good. I should have focus stacked but didn't for this shot and the foreground could be sharper. I'm shooting a bike race along the other side of this canyon tomorrow. Alway a fun and scenic assignment!

being lazy by nature, 'found' rather than carefully arranged still-lifes have a strong appeal to me - this bowl of windfall apples my wife left on the garden table is a case in point

Nice shot I really like your post-processing work, Graham. Very distinctive!

thanks Mike - the K-1 has been an adrenaline shot in terms of getting back to more arty stuff - I think it takes me back to my film days where I (as most people would who owned both systems) used the 67/67ii for landscape and arty stuff and the Z-1 for wildlife and reportage style - so somewhere lodged in my brain is a hot pixel (supported by camera mechanics) that equates larger format with more considered work - I suspect I.m going to be doing a deal more of it in the future, and benefitting from getting serious again about what I can bring to the show, not what the camera can. Which is nothing against the K-3 - the high definition made me much more careful again about critical sharpness - I really think that this sort of interaction with equipment is very fruitful and a good reason for upgrading when the budget allows, even if you're happy with the shots you're taking.
