I used to point out that in some tests, he DA 18-135 was sharper than both the DA*16-50 2.8 and the FA 24 at 24mm and ƒ5.6, I haven't seen the numbers, but this lens is simply lighter, smaller and does not open as wide. There's no reason for it to be in any way less useful than wider aperture lenses for landscape. And there's no reason to assume it's going to perform worse than a prime or higher end lens, it's been shown many times in the past, that isn't necessarily the case.
IN this case with a 3.75:1 zoom ratio, I expected this lens to be much better than my 18-135, which is 7.5:1 zoom, and I suspect it is.
