Welcome back Rupert! Nicely timed and great detail thanks for sharing. Was wondering where you'd got to. Happy New year!

Thank you Rupert ! I will tell her !

I did

Superb shots both !
Of course you did, but why didn't you share with me? (prolly because I didn't ask...heh)

Thanks very much Frederick. These are the last of the winter flora, I have a few more to process and post, but then even here in the tropics, it gets a little dull for a short while in the winter.

My oak tree decided this year is a good year to make acorns. My roof sounds like I am under attack. LOL! Not very photogenic though.

Oh well... I will find something interesting to shoot. I was thinking I might renew my annual pass to the zoo... (Ugh, so cliche') or try some city scapes, or night photography. We'll see.

I'm four days into K-1 ownership, and I've been shooting all the sorts of things one photographs while experiencing New Camera Syndrome (NCS). Since in real life (beyond NCS) I do a lot of automotive photography, this afternoon I put my 911 into the driveway to see how my K-1 and DFA 28-105 feel and work when shooting the kind cars that I enjoy. The sun was watery, and my car - though reasonably clean - is not in the pristine state I'd prefer for trying out a new camera because I'm a 70-year-old geezer who had invasive hernia surgery three weeks ago. For this trial, I can live with brake dust and water spots.

Aside from the unfortunate bulk and weight of the K-1/28-105 combo, the pair look to be ideal for car shows, boat shows, architecture and other stuff not too far away from the photographer.

Jer

Another image from everybody-now-knows-where. Rock was not as red at this spot. The vehicle is dwarfed by the cliff.

I prefer the colour version that you posted in the 24-70mm Thread, still I like your composition.
