Wasn't sure whether to post this in a gear porn thread or FA 77 thread, or here, but here we go. This camera is a bit of an odd duck--a camera with a pentaprism marked Asahiflex. It's an H2 (same as an S2), was handed down to me from my father, and was what I learned photography with as a teenager in the '70s. Manual everything, which is part of the reason I regard all the bells and whistles of today's cameras as magic. (Although it was a bit of magic in its own right back in the day.)

New to forums, this forum, & Pentax

Hello everyone. Am amazed to see so much excellent photography on these forums. So much talent/skill here.

I've had the K-1/28-105 less than a month & I've already traded in 12 Nikon lenses & a body for the 100 f/2.8 Macro & 70-200 f/2.8 D-FA*. The 15-30 is next, & then the 150-450 when the budget allows. Still have a Nikon D750, 24-120 f/4, & 200-400 f/4 for now. Been a Nikon guy, but never a fanboy, since 1992 (F3HP, F4, N90, D70, D100, D200, D7000, D600, D750).

Here's an image I captured along the Colorado River about 25 river miles north of Yuma, AZ., where I live. There are Petroglyphs scattered all along this stretch of the river & most of them are in the 600-800 year old range. I used the K-1's "Pixel Shift" & "Composition Adjustment" features for this image & I think they made a significant difference/improvement, although you can't tell from the small image size as I'm sure most of you know.

Can't tell you how pleased I am with the K-1. My only worry is the future of Pentax, but, I'm not a worrier, so forward we go!

Thanks for listening to me babble.

Striking image. Inviting composition with the road drawing us in. Ethereal feeling. Nicely done!

Beautiful, dramatic image! Since it was already shot dark, I wonder what would happen with a burned\darker foreground? Might that add to the drama (contrasting with the beautiful, bright peak)?

This might be a striking b/w as well.

In any case, it's gonna look great on your wall!

Stunning! These shots are treacherously difficult to capture, and you did. Very nice. It got squeals of delight in this household.
Thank you for your kind words my friend!

Took me ages to edit this one, highlights were slightly overblown and everything was a bit bleak, but I think this is quite acceptable.

Shot with the Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20/4 @f11. X-posted with the East German Lens Club.

Really happy with this wide angle, and the distortion is really well managed too

Puckering up for Otis! He said he knew those big hands of his would do the trick!

Spanish dove on a cold and wet day here....

Squirrels are generally happy critters.....he was telling me how proud he was of his winter coat on a cold day.

I suppose it does, I take it that what you say is perfectly true for how amazing your picture looks like. Bravo!

Where I live in France, Snow only rises at the top of Mount Canigou. Otherwise, I still swim in outdoor swimming olympic pool at 6:30 in the morning...

K1 with 35mm Limited. I've been having fun trying out the different lenses. The second one is a bit strange but I enjoyed the effect looking through the viewfinder. The corners are dark.
