Wow ! I've tried this in the light you describe...very difficult. Great photo.

I have to echo that comment. A top pro photographer once said that to make a compelling photo, you need a compelling subject. If you replace Nastasha Kinskey with me in Avedon's famous Nastasha with snake picture it sure wouldn't be a compelling photo - unless you were trying to compel somebody to toss their cookies.

Me again. The white spot in the sky is the Moon, and no, you cannot make out individual craters. Even a K1 has its limitations. This was almost inches to infinity DOF, but that would have required focus stacking.

Still, that is a much better moon than any posted by @fs999. FS keeps posting his moons only to irritate me and the little squirrels that have no use for them. We thank you for the decency to post a shot that has real substance and a tiny little moon that shows its insignificance in comparison. Hope your shot sends a message to FS on how to shoot moons.

Regards!

My luna is even more minisized. But there's the first star as a bonus!
(Anyway I think that our style of astrophotography leaves much more space for somebody's phantasy...)

I commend you and Walter on your moon shots. Maybe FS will take a hint and try to learn how to get good moon shots too instead of the ugly things he posts. I got tired of looking at his kind of moons shots somewhere around the second grade.....and have seen millions like them since....which is millions too many! Such a waste to see a budding excellent photographer like FS wasting his efforts on boring ugly moon shots like his.

Well, you did good...I like them! Hard to get speed and light at the same time!

Love the train shot!

I need to shoot something...but all the animals have disappeared this morning? Maybe the sap will run again soon?

Regards!
