Finally managed to get out for about 30 minutes with my K-1. Made it downtown just as the sun was setting. Pretty dull sunset but took a few shots. I took the DFA 28-105, the FA 50 Macro, and the Tamron 70-200. Hopefully the weather will be decent this weekend.
A very good series, sharp and colourful.

A weed but still pretty.

WEED = a plant that is doing very well where a human wants some other plant to do well.

Weeds are not a a specific taxonomic group, but they do have some common characteristics: 1) they commonly produce copious numbers of seeds; 2) the seeds disperse easily over large distances; 3) the seeds have variable germination; 4) the seeds do best on ground that has been disturbed, where other plants have been killed or removed; 5) once they germinate, the plants grow and set seeds very rapidly; 6) they are commonly aliens/invasives.

Which lens do you prefer out of these two Rondec. Was looking at them both and I decided on the 24-70 for its versatility. Would have loved to have both. Just curious on your opinion on these two thanks

@LeRolls - Wish you were here when I put this one up on the screen....so neat to hear dozens of little squirrels, all in unison, going OHH! LA LA!
For hiney admirer's like squirrels...and me...this one was a smash hit!

One of your best...but you have so many that are wonderful! One squirrel noted......He must have been drinking, his horizon is all out of whack. You weren't here so I slapped him silly for you!

Time for a Cheater shot from my monitor, shot with a genuine K1 and Rokinon 85mm. I tried to get her to pose on the Cheater Branches where I could use my Bigma, but she refused. So I used my Toy Camera X20 and cheated.....you know, I don't really mind cheating. My results are not much different if I do or don't.

Mrs Rupert, of strong Irish heritage, wishes you all a wonderful St Patricks Day! ......Me too! Wear your green!

Regards!

I use the 24-70 more because of the focal lengths it covers, but the 15-30 is the widest lens I have personally used (the widest I had on APS-C was the DA 15 which isn't nearly as wide as the 15-30 on a K-1).

OK, you asked for it...

Today, I bring you the best Eddy Haskell impression I've seen in a long time...

A Squirrel's Morning Story from today.......

"Bet you wish you could wake up and find you have big nuts?"

"This is best handled in the privacy of the Cheater Branch."

"Gonna have to open wide for this one!"

"Sparks fly once my chainsaw teeth get fired up!"

"Soon to be just another good memory!"

Squirrels...It's a tough life, but somebody's gotta do it!

Regards!

NOTE: I shot these in FF Mode.....and noticed something when processing....using FF Mode produces better AF sharpness than when using Crop Mode. Anyone else notice this, and what could be the explanation?

"Forgot to tell you guys/girls......When you come to a fork in the trail, be safe, take the middle!"

"And always check your sap spouts hourly....they could flow at any time!"

From yesterday's dog walk.
K-1 and DA*200 ƒ2.8
ISO 100, ƒ11, AV
Because so many of my walking shots were taken with the 18-135 and K-3 at 135mm, I actually don't miss much walking with the DA* 200 and the K-1. There were a few times I considered a lens change, but not compelling enough for it to actually happen.

The dogs

The setting, old logging roads near my house.

Along the way, ice covered drainage ditches and streams...

Moss and lichen peaking through he snow..

Squirrels said this is Lucky St Patricks Friday...they got lovely girls here and handsome doggies.....what more could anyone want? One smart squirrel just popped off...."Naked Girls!"

You too FS and the squirrels loved the girls....as always! They also appreciate that on this special day you didn't try any of that "moon shot" stuff!

Here is what I have found..if anyone is interested......and they probably aren't. My Bigma FF shots are better and sharper if shot in FF Mode and cropped in processing. Not sure why, but I am sure they are. I've done a few dozen comparisons this morning and the results are the same.

Shot FF....Cropped in processing. Was sharper when it came out of the camera FF than if shot in Crop Mode. What I need now is a 600mm lens!

Regards!
