In advance - sorry for being a bit off topic with my intro.
Today I visited a special event - the „19. Internationale Fürstenfelder Naturfototage“, a yearly mid may nature photography event in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich, Germany. At this event the winning photographs of the international nature photography competition „Glanzlichter“ are shown.
This time I got goose bumps when I saw the prints of the phantastic photographs that are taken around the globe and won prices in their categories
. If you are interested in these pictures you can take a look
here (select category on the left hand side, category names in english). Of course the small internet representations are by far not that impressive compared to the prints, but they show what kind of photographs can be seen (a klick on the thumbnail a bigger ~ 800px representation is shown).
The event days are accompanied by courses about photography, a photo equipment market where I had a look at the Pentax KP and a bird of prey demonstration where manufacturers demostrate their equipment and people can take photographs. Here are some pictures I made with my K-1 and the DA55-300PLM.
The first image shows a photographer testing equipment that's installed by gear manufacturers. There's a battery of such installations, installed mainly by tripod, camera and optics manufacturers.
