This is my iffy attempt at a handheld 3 shot panorama... stitched in photoshop using auto tool... had to crop some, but it sorta works.

Noel, I looked at them on flicker then noticed the genius boat loader.
Thanks Bob, I made the boat loader out of fence railing I had lying around..... very Pentaxian I thought

Photo's taken with K-1....haha.... I went out in the Skinny Tinny one day and considered the value of the K-1, K3, DFA 150-450 and the limiteds I had with me.... then went and added "floaties" so the boat wasn't so tippy..... it's amazing how sneeky photographic purchases every few months add up over a few years....

That is surreal! Nice pano!... every time I try a city pano like that, the stitching software does something weird to one of the buildings and I toss it in the trash. Admittedly, mine were daytime and handheld, using the level guides in the viewfinder, but you have inspired me to try again on a tripod.

Very nice! Maybe this would also make a good blue hour shot. Good vantage point.

Static in Motion

K-1 - FF mode - DFA28-105@58 - Haida 10stop filter - ISO100 - 20s - f/11

First time I did a long time exposure using K-1. The K-1 was fixed at low height on a travel tripod. Through the viewfinder I couldn't recognize anything. I was really surprised that the metering system worked without any problem although the 10 stop filter was put on. The tilting back screen showed the image. So I could compose properly. Sitting on a Walkstool 55 did the rest for comfort ...

Indeed, blue hour would be nice.

The plan was to grab a few sunset shots at the Marina Barrage before heading over this spot for blue hour.
Unfortunately, the sunset did not happen with the overcast skies.
By the time I reached this location and did the actual vantage point, I missed blue hour.

Learning to photograph

Eric,
Thank you, and yes I sure am having a ball with the K-1 & that lens.

WOW, fantastic shots by all again.

Here is a shot of the Flowering Raspberry SOOC after a light rain, I am getting better with the focus
Best Regards, Bob

Playing with idea the other day of using DA*300 as a semi close up lens. Can't really call it a macro, but with a little cropping, it does give you a nice distance from the subject and seems sharp enough.

If I could get an extension tube that would autofocus SDM cheap enough, that might be fun... I'd basically have to knock the glass out of something like my Tamron PZ 1.4x TC, (just saying that makes me cringe )
There would have to be a cheaper better way, heh heh. Besides, most TC are prolly well over 25mm, and I'd prolly not need something so thick, would I, just to get a little closer and keep magnification?

This is so close to "good enough" that I'm not sure it's worth the trouble of chasing the ext tube idea... especially when I have a DFA 100WR in the bag too. Anyone else try this? Thoughts?
