A different kind of bird. Female Variegated Fairy-wren, Gum Flat, outside Moree, New South Wales, June 2017. K-1 with Sigma 500 f4.5 APO DG EX and Sigma 1.4x TC.

Took the toys out for a spin over July 4th

Tamron 70-200 @88mm, f7.1, ISO 200, 1/320


Tamron 70-200 @200mm, F2.8, 1/500, ISO 100


Pentax-plasticfantastic DAL 50mm in FF, f2.5, ISO 100, 1/1600. Played around with that shallow DOF and the sunflower/bee intersection

Took my 280Z out to stretch her legs and visited the Florida caverns. Took the K1, FA31 and D FA28-105, should have taken my Panasonic Lumix LX-10 for pictures in the caves. I used the FA31 and nothing was in focus and tons off noise, very disappointed. I did get a descent photo of the old girl

Sounds like insufficient light to enable the auto focus. Did you try any manual focus? What ISO were you using to get excessive noise?

Extreme conditions often demand user over ride of the auto functions.
