Hi Matt, excellent pics!

I was wondering if you would be able to tell us (or rather me) a little more about these shots, what modes you chose in the camera etc. I can see the flash fired on most of them, were you shooting Manual mode, what kinda focus mode etc. The reason I ask is I haven't yet fully managed to operate the K-1 very well from a 'action' perspective yet, and there is a skate park near where I live and was thinking of venturing out and being that 'creppy auld guy' shooting kids skating etc lol. (jks).

That's great to know, cheers Matt. I wondered if you used 'catch-in-focus' or some other mode (I think that's the one where it fires only when the object or person comes into focus etc). Good info, cheers once again.
Hi, can just confirm this, I did also some action shooting and some say the K1 is not good for action photography, but I had no issues. My settings where burst mode, AFS.C, focus area set to 9, TV and focus priority setting on first frame and focus
priority on next frame.

The weather didn't allow for a lot of paddling but our last night provided an opportunity.

K-1 and either the DFA 28-105 ( a few) or DA*60-250 (most of the images).

Tripper came along for the ride.

A bit of company on the lake.

The Channel into Shall Lake.

Along the shoreline.

Island in the mist.

Our campsite.

Sunset over the gap.
Great camping trip Norm, I'm jealous. Love the pooch in the POV canoe shot, and island in the mist is special.

Great butterfly!
I've had a couple tamron 90mm macro over the years, before AF, and they were great lenses. If I didnt find a great deal on the dfa100wr, I prolly would have ended up with a newer af tamron for my K1. Solid performers.

Melbourne's live music pubs are fighting a losing battle with poker machines. Here, singer-songwriter Madeleine defies the trend by belting out one of her numbers on a Saturday evening gig. K-1 with Sigma 35mm Art and FA77 Limited.

I went to the Bancroft skate park to try and get some images like this. The kids weren't very good, someone wiped out and was unconscious, the ambulance and paramedics came. Maybe I'll try again next time.

If I was shooting with a manual lens (which would be hard!) I'd use Catch in Focus for sure.
