Originally posted by mattb123 No but I did use my 645D that weekend too, for more static shots. Too much action and not enough light at the branding and roping. The K-1 was great and I shot this one at ISO 800 to ensure fast enough shutter speeds to catch this kind of action. I kept bumping it up as the evening wore on and shot some at 3200 that I think will be very usable. 645D can't do that! (but the Z can)
They want images for future campaigns that will include billboards so I need all the pixels I can get in these!
Thank you for the information and insights. Yes, I also find the K-1 to be a nimble and capable tool. Even though I have the 645D, I continue to use 645 lenses, mainly the 120mm macro, adapted on the K-1. K-1 SR and other amenities such as the fold-out screen allow me to get photos that I cannot capture on the D. I like the D, but have to keep working with it, particularly in terms of subject choice, to get it to show me its best. I have a feeling that CCD magic will not be enough to keep me eventually from gravitating to the Z with its much greater features and flexibility.
I had to share the roping photo with a friend in Texas albeit with all the cautionary warnings not to make prints or share it publicly. She loved it.
Keep up your great work, and share as much as you can.
