Smokey Columbia River Sunrise - Irix 15mm Blackstone

Have forest fires going on to the east in The Gorge which gave the sun such a red color this morning.

Near Oxford Castle? (The old jail.)

I am finding in processing my UK pictures that I like the cloudy skies, so long as they are textured. Flat battleship grey skies are not that exciting though.

To increase the texture, pull the tone curve down to the lower right of the straight line. That darkens everything. Then increase dodging to bring out darker detail, and the result is textured sky, although those clouds do look a bit like the flat ones I do not like.

Guess, as an Australian, I see clouds as having the promise of rain - a good thing.

I walked past the castle yesterday. Took forever to drive down the Botley Road yesterday, Sunday afternoon.

Nice pix. At first glance I thought the caption said surprise at the hoodoos...when I think about it, the top of the rock looks precarious.....

Neat JV! You were fortunate and you got some nice shots! How close did you get?
For a second there I thought you were talking about Christopher's shots

Some pictures from Ek Balam (Black Jaguar), another archeological site from Yucatan, Mexico.

Love this one, for a couple seconds I couldnt really understand what I was seeing, I really like this feeling when it happens in front of a picture.
