Rupert style shots

Michaelina2, Viewed your Flickr site, WOW, your album of butterflies & skippers is fantastic work.
Rondec, nice composition of the tobacco barn & nice B&W of the keys.
Eric, Oh yeah man, love the orange & yellow flowers.
Sagnik, Those are all excellent shots Roy, very nice portraits.
normhead, nice autumn series.
ivanvernon, nice fall series also.
Frederic, Interesting vineyard effect, your fancy lens shots & special effects are pretty cool.
acoufap, Really like all the reservoir scenes, nice B&W shot.
TonyGrowden, very good work on the test shots.
BruceBanner, Beautiful shots in the Blue Mountains.
Hattifnatt, As others have posted...your Havana series has been most enjoyable, very nice work.
mattt, Those are neat shots.
These shots are taken from the window of my study/computer room. Overcast sky & well after sunset so the light was very limited. This is a good example of the bottom end of the DR on the K-1. The distance was about 75 yards and the first photo posted is pretty close to what I could see in the view finder. Was using spot metering & had to just guess where the center of the frame was. Lucky enough after several attempts to acquire & confirm focus I could release the shutter. Started with 1/80 a second but as the light decreased went to 1/40 and ISO of 12800, then 1/15 shutter speed and ISO 10000. Figured with just a slight movement the shots were crap and was totally unsure of the focus anyway. When I processed the shots I was shocked. These certainly are not good photos with great detail but I am thrilled to have been able to capture these images. BTW, noticed the deer in the yard munching on pears & apples, slowly opened the window and started trying to take the shots. Interesting is that he heard the shutter release and knew I was there, but did not appear spooked. This is soo much fun, I love it. @Rupert, I like not having to leave the house.
Best Regards, Bob

Be careful! I started out shooting a few from my home office windows then progressed to shooting 90% of everything from them. There is something habit forming about being in air conditioned comfort, a cold drink or a hot cup of coffee, maybe a little snack handy, and looking out to see what you can shoot next. You can even sit there and shoot half naked....the animals looking in don't really care....excepting the squirrels will laugh at you.

99% of these K1 shots were shot through my office windows....some are half decent!

Enjoyed your shots...keep it up, it is fun stuff!

Best Regards!

Cross-posted from D-FA Lens Club. The Image Sync app is super handy for self-portraits.

I just didn't want to conjure up images of a naked Rupert shooting away with his K1 & Bigma. Squirrels would deem that totally inappropriate!

Not to mention how the lens gains in size when you point it at an exiting motive.

Young Great Heron

Loving the excellent variety of high quality photos here.

Happened to have a young Great Heron land on the back fence last evening, so I put the 70-200 D FA on the K 1 and snapped a few pics. So impressed with this lens. First pic is lightly cropped, and second pic is cropped to show 100% view.

I created the files uploaded per the guide lines, but for some reason the file sizes shown is much smaller, and the quality is degraded also. I'm obviously doing something wrong. Any advice?
