I created the files uploaded per the guide lines, but for some reason the file sizes shown is much smaller, and the quality is degraded also. I'm obviously doing something wrong. Any advice?
Hello ! I use Flickr for showing my photos, so I can't say what is the problem. Perhaps are your photos too big ? The max size is 1400 x 900.

Superb shots Jean ! That lens is impressive !

K-1 and F 70-210

I wasn't impressed with these images, and decided the slow ƒ4-ƒ5.6 aperture was affecting my AF.
So I went out today with the 100 macro, but the light wasn't as good and I actually got much worse, so I'm posting these

A pixel peeper,

I guess you can make a case for wanting modern glass, but this lens looks plenty good to me.
Seriously what are people hoping for?

Looking for 70-200 for less money and weight that the DFA 70-200 of FA 80-200, portable with good IQ, look no further. On a K-1 this is great lens, and you can caryry it in a decent sized coat pocket. Modern Pentax glass has nothing in it's class.

Waterfall

A waterfall shot from earlier this summer. K-1 and D FA 24-70 at 40 mm, 4 seconds exposure. I've just made a large print of this shot and I was very pleased with the resolution.

Yes. There is some legacy glass that even render some nice colors (beside fringing in harsh conditions), but finding them second hand and in good conditions it not necessarily easy. And legacy glass is not that visible to any new comer to the Pentax brand.
I've already seen the FA70-210 in mint condition, it's incredibly compact, feels like there's a lot of glass inside. Together with sensor SR on K1 makes it a really small system. But that kind of lens is not available new.

I think a lot of the available Pentax lenses are plenty good for my purposes. I'm certainly pretty content with my current lenses and I bet I'd be happy with the FA 80-200 f2.8. I know I'd be happy with the savings at the very least.
