Mike.P, Those 2 sets from the New Forest are very nice photos.
acoufap, very nice scenes, really like the second one with the rock face as background, it adds a nice element.
Eric, I like the composition of the rocks, the sea & clouds. A real pretty scene.
Frederic, Look like very thick walls in that house, are they made of stone. I kinda like the photo also. I am falling behind with the moon shots.
Patriot, totally beautiful shot at Zion, the distant ridges included makes the whole scene better, well done again.
awscreo, nice stack work, love that low angle of view, makes the scene far more special.
Namsanvt, awesome photo, love that one.
Here is a shot where I sure wish I had nailed the focus or at least used a faster shutter speed since the thing kept moving. Found it eating a pear & there is a drop of nectar on its mouth. Tomorrow I will search for another chance, the sun should be out, that is my natural flash for now.@ Eric, if need be I will take 50 shots to get one good one with the nectar drop, gotta love digital. A nectar drop is much more valuable than one of Frederic's water drops.
Beat Regards, Bob

The light on that flower, and the way it brings out the color, are very nice indeed

K-1 and 645 135mm LS

Three test images in early morning light..

KIT: K-1 with new (to me) Pentax 645 135mm f4.0 LS, used with 645-K adapter in non-LS mode without flash. For those who may be unfamiliar, LS refers to the lens' leaf shutter feature which allows the camera to sync with flash at shutter speeds up to 1/500 sec. The lens can also be used as a standard medium format lens, which is nice since Pentax has not offered a standard non-LS 135mm lens. This can be a convenient prime lens focal length, about the same as an 85mm lens produces on APS-C cameras--a focal length appropriate to one of the major uses of this LS lens, portraiture in bright sunlight when the photographer wants to avoid a whited-out background. From my preliminary use of the lens on both the K-1 and on the 645D, I will say the lens is quite sharp with excellent good color rendering. I like using 645 and 67 lenses on the K-1 because of all the extra features of the K-1 such as shake control, pixil shift, and the quick knob on top that lets you quickly dial in more or less exposure.

Since there was some talk about the f/6.3 lenses by example DA55-300PLM@300 I thought I could do a photo serie with it using K-1 and show some of the results. As always DNG converted and adjusted in Capture One Pro.

K-1 • APSC mode • DA55-300PLM@300 • ISO250 • 1/320s • f/6.3

K-1 • APSC mode • DA55-300PLM@300 • ISO800 • 1/250s • f/6.3

K-1 • FF mode & pp Square Crop • DA55-300PLM@300 • ISO800 • 1/100s • f/6.3

K-1 • APSC mode • DA55-30PLM@300 • ISO400 • 1/320s • f/6.3
