But looking at the cold weather clothing/shoes I have to wonder if that is an old photo? I know you guys on the other side of the disc have a way of sticking to the ground with your feet up on the floor and the head dangling down into the universe, but shouldn't it be close to summer in down under now? The image seems like a fall picture.

Depends on usage of photographs. Photographs are fundamentally used to record an image at a moment in time, as a mean to keep memory of moment for an indefinite amount of time.
There is also a new usage via social media: instant post of a snap shot and forget. The two ways are being confused. Immature folks tend to favor the fire and forget approach.
