In honor of the new SW release, I have another "event" series. I had fun trying to make these static displays more interesting, deal with crowds, odd ball lighting, reflections, cluttered backgrounds, and of course, no flash allowed. I found the original storyboards and hand sketches as interesting as the displays, maybe more so. The low light capability of the K-1 is really saves the day with some of these to come.

Here we go...May the F-Stop be with you!

Australia's a more cosmopolitan place than might be thought ... half of us have at least one parent who was born overseas. Both in the case of Carla, with an Italian mother and Dutch father.

The second time you shoot someone, the attitude's different all round, you know them, they know you.

The last time, she'd been a bit tentative in the company of strangers for a morning, this day, she remembered me, and courtesy of me admitting I thought her name had been Bianca, there were laughs between us, and the expressions were different.

It was also a chance for me to use HSS flash (a bare Pentax 540) to change the mood from the last shots, which had muted, soft colours, for something more dynamic.

The top pic is with the FA31 Ltd, the lower one is with the Sigma 24mm f1.8. If you keep the subject in the middle and get them to lean forward, you do get a different feel, shooting portraits with an Ultra Wide lens.

She is spectacular!
On the topic - I prefer portrait from Sigma more. I did not even know this lens existed.

That image is worth a long, savoring inspection.

Normally I don't share too much of my paid work that I do for companies and small businesses as I find it more boring (aka my heart's not really into it) but this shoot was a little different. Kemorene Wines basically gave us free reign to create and have fun.

Was nice using the 43 again. Concept was Elyna's idea and I think it came out pretty well considering I hardly shoot indoors. Her boyfriend was sitting on the toilet off to the side working the bubble machine.

Local park at sunset less than a 3 minutes from my house. Gotta shoot there more often. My trusty 85 yet again. Hardly any post processing required. Just changed the white balance in the camera.

Kemorene Wines wanted candid/lifestyle type pics but eye catching and a little dramatic as well. Plus they love my models.

Great work. It is a great privilege to see your professional work and get your take on models, concepts, etc.
