EricBrown, The word beautiful certainly applies to your photo of the Wall, very well done, thank you for taking it & thank you for posting it.
zzeitg, Often I have wondered about the pics LeRolls can not post here. Awesome flare shots you got there.
Frederic, Went on to your Flickr site to study that second shot, a spot where you took other photos but by far that one is my favorite: the plants in the foreground stand out so well; the subtle contrast of colors; the nice blue sky & the reflection on the water. For sure it is not a dynamic scene but I sure like it, guess my taste is somewhat simple.
Best Regards, Bob
Thank you Sirs !

Not at all. Great ambient light! (shameless night/flash plug).

I gave it a quick try this evening but didn't have much time.
I'll try to continue to refine this.

Fantastic! It looks like your OCF is getting some good penetration, CPL possibly to kill/enhance any bounce/diffraction? This might need some phat(er) watt seconds, add another Siggy/Cactus to the mix maybe? Did you stun from the surface of the ice or did you carve down a bit to get a more horizontal approach to the forms?

I know you're going to hit this, and I know your results are going to crush both sides of the coin, color and mono.

Me jealous? Oh, I think that's a fair assumption.

Cheers,

Flames are not that easy, and the FPS on K-1 doesn't help but still love to catch flames.

Here is from Five Finger Death Punch in London

Thanks!
This is just from the surface with a little cheap gel holder/diffuser laying on the ice with a hat over it to cut leaks and glare. I thought an upside down metal mixing bowl over the flash might work well too and reflect leaks back down. I agree I need more coverage or maybe a smaller patch of bubbles. I cropped a few out that were too hot too so I need to distribute better.
I thought about digging too and that may be the key but I wouldn't want to hit water which can seep up through cracks. I don't have a CPL for my UWAs so that would be harder to try, plus I'd lose a little flash power.

Maybe I should get myself a little ice fishing shack to hang out in while I do all this...

I need to concentrate on other photo projects but I'll revisit this as I can. Thanks for all the enthusiasm!

Edit to add: Maybe I could borrow a fisherman's gas powered auger. A manual hole might be a chore!

Very Cool! The stainless bowel could work, shaping and direction might push it out through the formation enough. My thought on the sub surface, was to go only a few inches, just enough to offer light into the column? Yes, as well, paying the rent w/ corp head shots, first one is here, I'll check in later.

Cheers,

RM-
