Many superb photos posted by all members in the last week. I will comment on a few & apologize for not taking time to comment on all.
Rondec, like all your photos but love the one of Justice.
IggzDaloc, what else can be said of your Mesa Arch shot, fantastic.
Hattifnatt, I always like your photos but exceptional are the beautiful scenic pictures you capture in Magura Village, Slovakia. Just like many old villages in Europe it is so majestic with the old buildings, artisan shops & farms.
As with many villages & small towns in North America the economics has changed the life styles thru the years but they are still great areas to live near or visit. Look forward to seeing more of your photos from there.
Frederic, your flower photos of late have been rather superb, a bit of a different style from before. @Eric is simply jealous of the quality of image on the pistols & rifles. And no Eric I will never forget that error of yours.
LeRolls, really nice candle light photo, of course the second photo is not too bad, it will give me sweet dreams.
repaap, nice landscape shot.
zzeitg, awesome portrait photos & love the landscape shots.
teiki arii, love your recent B&W photos, excellent compositions.
jva59, your time spent out in the cold is paying off well, very nice photos.
gaweidert, terrific shots at the Corning Museum, well done in such low light.
Best Regards, Bob

More summer downunder. Tthese were captured at Mimiwhangata Coastal Park in Northland NZ. The beaches are quite deserted even during the height of the summer holiday here.

Thank you! it's so nice of you to take the time and comment on people's work, I really appreciate it a lot.

However the village in question is located in Romania, not Slovakia. This is a mistake from my part, I'm using a US keyboard so I spelled it Magura instead of "Măgura". I didn't realize there are other places with similar names.

Somehow in many of our villages the life style did not change that much. From the photography point of view, this may be fascinating. However there are downsides to that, for instance the infrastructure is severely lacking, transportation is difficult in many areas because of very bad roads and other means of transportation (likes buses) are not reliable. I will not even mention other social issues. For me it's even worse because somehow I got to this age without having a driver license... so visiting those places is difficult although I'm a native. I do plan to visit more villages like this in the near future (maybe team up with somebody who can drive) so expect more pictures to come.

I plead guilty as charged, I'll pay the fine... if you can expunge my record.

Love the first one, the flower. The blue pops out like it was a 3-D image.

K-1 to copy old slides

Kiwipixter, outstanding beach photos.
Hattifnatt, thank you, and regarding the different aspects of life in small towns & villages the same unfortunate conditions exist here. In a way I am jealous of your travels, but at the same time I am quite content staying on my old farm most of the time.
Eric, your record is clear, trust me...
Frederic, looking at that 1st photo, WOW
ZeGaby, awesome sunset shot, lots of birds, very nice.
teiki arii, that is another great B&W photo.

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from the past. Been busy attempting to clean & copy old positives.
originals: taken with the Spotmatic; Asahi Super-Takumar 50/1.4
copy: taken with the K-1; Asahi Pentax Bellows II; Asahi Pentax slide copier; Asahi SMC Macro-Takumar 50/1.4
first photo: my nephew Dan at age 2, taken in Pittsburgh, PA in 1967.
second photo: a young Hwarang Warrior, taken in Chinhae, South Korea in 1969.
Please inform me if it is OK to post old photos that are taken again with the K-1 on this thread, or if I should be going elsewhere.
Best Regards, Bob

Hello jabobby,
thank you for your comment,
have a try with Sigma Macro 50mm F2,8 EX DG, one of the best price quality ratio for macro 1:1. I am trying different combinations (of lenses) with K-1 to scan 35mm and 6X6 Rolleiflex films...
