SMC Pentax-A 135/2.8

I bought the lens in 2011 and have had K-1 since launch, but I haven´t used the combo much at all... shame on me .

I wanted to take some bokeh shots but the dog would not play ball with me.. . So.. these are all I got for now:

"Should I look at you daddy or the stupid flashy thingy..? ( never mind.. I´ll look at both.. )"

(all @ f/2.8, ISO400, 1/125s + YN560IV)

Date Night

I so enjoy looking at the wonderful images on this forum every day. Such wonderful variety and interesting locations around the world. They keep inspiring me to develop my skills.

My wife and I attended a dinner outside under date palms a couple evenings ago at Imperial Date Gardens near Yuma, AZ. The view at sunset gave me an idea for an image, so I went back the next evening to try to capture what I envisioned. Didn't quite capture what I envisioned, so I'm going to go back until I do. This will have to do for now.

This is me goofing around trying my hand at a 3 shot hand held panorama, then cropped 16x9.

Considering this was directly into the sun, which I cropped out, I think it really didn't flare too bad at all.

Here is one single shot where I intentionally tried to provoke some flare... meh...

I always start with the K-1, wait until the frustration builds then switch to the K-3.
When the weather is this cold trying to focus with your hand in a mitten is just really hard. The 1.7x really is more of a warm weather option.

K-1 and Tamron SP AF 300 2.8 ED [IF], with F 1.7x AF Adapter (510mm ƒ 4.5)

And a few taken with the DFA 28-105

Not a sunset, but close enough, early afternoon colour.

And a few highway images from Hwy 60

Impressive how much detail is retained on the birds.

Especially like the near sunset and the frozen cascades along Hwy 60 that comes next. Looks as though the Tammy 300 + 1.7X TC is a compatible paring. You'd be very hard pressed to get better IQ @ 500mm or more.

For less than $2000 CAD I got 510 ƒ4.5. I have no idea how you'd beat that for anywhere close to the same IQ.
