I wonder.. how many of you all will find yourself here? Pentax K-1 / 500px

I wasnt surprised to find Chris there, but I have to say I cannot recognize anyone else from this forum.

Do any of you link from 500px using BB code?
Maybe in few years I'll be good enough to be in top 100)

I prefer linking from Flickr these days, much easier. Wish 500px had a similar integration as Flickr.

Is that a mangled engine piston?

I just HATE IT when that happens to my car. Must dig out the piston I replaced in my Renault 16 and post an image, but the damage is nothing compared to that one.

Aye, what's left after a "coming together" with valves on a V8 Land Cruiser.

If the timing belt goes... it's described as I believe "a not safe engine", no kidding.

I try to avoid buying an 'interference fit' engine. I remember a secretary I worked with many years ago didn't change her timing belt, well after the factory recommendation, on her Honda Civic. It broke and her pistons interfered with her valves, causing much the same issue as the pictured piston.

An expensive job.

Me....I find it wise to follow the maintenance schedule in a vehicle's owners manual. Like the Fram oil filter TV advert of a few decades ago...where the mechanic says...you can pay me now...as he holds a $ 4 filter...or you can pay me later...showing an engine on a hoist.
