I don't know how to break this to you all, but there's more... a lot more...

This set of flutterbys is where I flipped to TAv mode, and just let the ISO run wild*** so I could get silly fast shutter speeds.

smc PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM ƒ/7.1 300.0 mm 1/1000 ISO640

smc PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM ƒ/7.1 300.0 mm 1/1000 ISO1000

smc PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM ƒ/7.1 300.0 mm 1/1000 ISO1000

***I "think" what i learned from this experiment, is that high ISO in bright daylight is really where what they call an ISO'less sensor really comes in. The price you pay in noise in bright daylight, even with high ISO and fast shutter and small F stop isn't nearly as bad as in dark scene to begin with...At least I don't find a little film-like grain objectionable... and I think it deals with highlights better this way too, which seems counter intuitive because the DR should be less when shooting way above base ISO? At any rate, with a long lens and fast moving objects, it does at least let you grab some fun pic's.
I think I just talked myself in a circle.
