Pic 4 sorry for the confusion
Oh, they're coming downhill, Dave - 31mm on the DFA 28-105.

A CPL filter means the glare/highlights are suppressed and the colours are true.

There is a race soon locally and they are using the local hills for part of it
Get down there with your long lens, Dave!

Some of the locations around the course will be great as backdrops, others not so much but they will offer shots of the athletes displaying effort/emotion - the finish line, the feeding area, top of a climb ... the solution is of course to move about constantly during the day.

If you set up a tripod and park yourself in the same spot you're going to get hundreds of identical shots, people don't want to see that.

A lot of motor racing photography suffers from that, IMHO - same bend, same cars with one wheel over the line, lap after lap.

Eric, I thought the first photo of the set was great, studied it for a while...then I viewed the second shot, fantastic in every aspect.
Craigbob, terrific series of shots at the old zoo, nice work.
Frederic, The city of Leuwen is most interesting, wonderful culture, education & research...and I imagine very good beer. It is amazing that the Voirste Huys was built in the 1400's, survived WW 1&2, had some restorations and looks so fantastic now. Grateful that you shared the photo & supplied me the city name. And thanks for saving me the dish.
Best Regards, Bob

It's funny camera like that. You like it, but you don't know exactly why. It's like everything was stepped up a bit, but taken all together it's made a huge difference.

Why

Miles from anywhere, literally I do mean miles.

Just there in dappled morning light... yelling at me "take my picture Mister"

Thanks! I want to say between 5 to 10 ft... most were shot pretty close to the DA*300's minimum focus distance (which is about 4.5ft), I know this because I had to step back at times to get the thing to focus, heh heh.
Most of these are cropped a fair bit, but with K-1's clean 36MP, it's really not an issue even at high ISO.
