Eric, your flutterby shots are absolutely great. The thistle that the hummer moth likes in my neck of the woods is the Bull Thistle (Cirsium vulgare) an alien that you should most likely find in your area. Attached some photos. And I certainly agree with you and Frederic, stay in place & let them come to you.
Frederic, your sense of humor is as good as your photography.
Best Regards, Bob

Non mais Le Rolls quoi !!

Couldnt translate this one !
Super image.

I've been trying the Irix 15mm for the last 2 days, walking around NYC.
This is an amazing lens

I was a huge fan of the 15mm Limited on my APSC bodies, and despite the focal difference due to FF this 15mm lens has been a pleasure to shoot with. Great colors, really sharp from F5 and there is a couple nice things like the HF scale and the lock focus (which is kinda difficult to operate on my copy but Im getting the hang of it little by little).

This is a super sexy lens, which adds nothing to IQ but has to be mentioned, especially after the Le Rolls shot above

Very nice. I'll bet these look wonderful at full resolution. The Moab area is a photographers wonderland. Need to get back there soon.

Nice job. Especially like the in flight shots. Nice lighting and very well processed.
Thanks Dale! Appreciate that mucho. Still have a few more FIF's (Flutteryby's in Flight) in the queue. The funny thing is, these are mostly from 1 or 2 overhead passes, sequential, with only a few throw away's for focus issues, and those were mostly my fault for not keeping the subject in the central 9 points I was using because the little buggers are so fast and erratic, they change directions more than a guy on a bicycle, heh heh.

Frederic, that first shot is another corker with the Tamron, wow, such colors and so sharp! That tractor is a great capture too, but its the wrong color... over here they are JD green. It's like camouflage, so you can hide in the field.

Thanks, and thanks again for the tip! If I can't find starters at the local nursery I'll check mail order, and last resort... seeds. (who has the patience anymore? Heh)
I am litteraly GREEN with envy of your hummer moth shots!!! Those are so freaking cool!

I took this from my front yard with the K1, iOptron SmartEQ Pro, and Astrotech AT65Q refractor. 50x 180 second and 65x 120 second exposures at ISO 1600. The closer you look the more little galaxies you can see. The K1 is a pretty good astro camera!

Frederic, thank you. My meal tonight is fish & green beans, with a touch of butter and salt...but I do not make a dish worth photographing.
LeRolls, super sweet for sure.
DimC, love that first image with the sexy lens, super nice detail.
Eric, thank you, I think your FIF shots are freaking cool. Check vacant lots & abandoned farm fields, that alien species might be there.
robbiec, that first shot is superb.
milaber22, interesting & very nice image.
stubyles, cool shot of the seaside.
eaglem, good capture & good humor.
VoiceOfReason, that is absolutely awesome, great work.
Best Regards, Bob
