A beautiful shot. Love the long exposure...

A Mother's Day Rose (shot with the DFA 100 macro and pixel shift)

Thanks Vincent.

Nice rose shot and really appropriate subject matter for pixel shift.

did you have to calibrate the focus on your Irix? and Do you use a uv filter on the lens? I ask becausemy Irix would give me bad commas at night untel I removed my filter.

No filter used and thankfully the infinity focus notch on my Irix 15 mm Blackstone is accurate.
It really is a time saver in the field compared to adjusting the focus with the Rokinon 24 mm.
Here's another shot taken on Mother's Day (2 am) of the Yakima river, WA state. Same pattern of five 25 second shots (ISO 3200) stacked in Sequator and a light painted foreground.
I'm still getting slight star trailing at 25 seconds (individual and stacked shots) and even notice it as 20 seconds with higher ISO.

Great, thanks for posting with the commentary, as I need to work on my astro. Now, please more fish shots.

I know you didnt ask me this question but as I am an IRIX 15mm owner you might be interrested by my input on this.

After much testing on brick walls I went to the conclusion that my infinity point for my lens was ok. I was concerned at first because my first test were done on a wall at about 15 meters from the lens and I thought it was far enough to be considered "infinity" for a 15mm lens.
Well not really in fact, because later on (right before I was ready to send the lens to IRIX factory), I did an infinity test on a brick wall about 50 to 60 meters away and then I noticed the infinity point (factory set) was good.

As far as coma I am not an expert, I can send you a DNG file featuring stars if you want to do comparison.
And Im not using UV filters on my lenses anymore, BUT this one might be an exception as the front lens seems so vulnerable...

Some X-Post image from the IRIX thread if you dont mind, this time with the IRIX polarizer that I just received.
