Same scene, only rectangle crop and stepped back a little for wider view... still wide open, but DOF not quite as shallow at increased focus distance, so bokeh ends up a tiny bit less crazy at increased distance focus.

Super Takumar 35.0 mm f2.0 1/3200 iso100

Just for comparison sake... here is a side view, slightly harsher light, stopped down a little and it's a totally different picture.

Super Takumar 35.0 mm f28 or 3.5? 1/800 iso100

Just a simple shot of orchids

Pentax K-1 - Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO EX @ f/11 ISO 100 1/200th - 2 Godox AD 360 flash units used.

And here is a quick and dirty diagram of how I did it:

The lighting ratio appears to be 1:2 but the red/blue filters I used to create the background ate up a ton of light - the Ratio is probably closer to 1:6. I use grids/honeycombs a lot, I'm a big fan of the amount of control they offer. I used the natural fall off from the grid on the background light to create the gradient on the background. I'm frequently disappointed manufacturers consider grids "optional" accessories with light modifiers these days, for a lot of my work I consider them to be Essential.

Thanks. I used Lightroom 6.14 and develop from dng RAWs. My thought was that a DNG has an embedded profile, so LR should be able to use that when it doesn't have its own profie. The house photo is a 3 exposure HDR with perspective correction applied, also done in LR.
I'm not totally sure if it is using that profile or not, but at least at low ISO the images look fine to me. I have not done any formal testing or any very high ISO images yet.
