When I take the time to do it right, the D FA 150-450 is a heck of a lens. When I first got the camera I put my D FA 28-105 lens on it to test for shutter shock. It does seem less noticeable than on my K1 but that may simply be camera to camera variation.

All in all I am pleased with my K1-II but I do not plan to do the upgrade on my K1. I spent the money on the trip instead. My K1 has never given my any real reason to be dissatisfied with it. It is a fine camera as is.

My only real concern with the K1-II is it's inability to resolve the details in the fur of animals such as seen on the three mountain goats in the center of this image.
Absolutely agree with you...that is pretty poor !! What on earth was Pentax thinking ?!!
PS: still looking for the goat.

Three goats, along a ledge pretty close to the center of the image.

Here are two crops from that photo. The first shows the three goats. The second one shows some petrified trees that were swept up in an ancient lahar and are now eroding out of the cliff. .

Playing with square format. Thought it worked for this one.

Somebody had to go after LeRolls... Not my best work, but worth a chuckle.

You have to get pretty close to a bee with a 35mm lens to get this perspective...

... which can upset some types of bee's a little, so then you end up with this perspective, right before you run.

Okay, guys and gals, I finally took my K-1 out to shoot for real and decided to share. I took four lenses with me and am glad I did because I found a use for each of them. Below there's one photo taken with each lens.

Please be gentle...but honest. I am always looking to improve my photography so do appreciate critiques.
