The more pics I see from that Irix lens... damn... lucky me I don't have a K1!

Been a bit busy lately moving into a new phase of my career, so have not posted for far too long. Rainbow Lorikeet from my back yard with Sigma 500 f4.5 APO DG EX and Sigma 1.4x TC, and a pair on a perch - a male Scarlet Myzomela and a Silvereye on Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane, taken with Pentax 150-450. Both taken in Queensland, Australia.
Lovely shot of the Rainbow Lorikeet. We get quite a few around here but they scare easily and I haven't anything longer than a 135 to try and capture them well.

'Yet'

There fixed it for you. I think you will find it works just as well on APS-C, so no more excuses please

Nope... on APS-C I already have the Sigma 10-20/3.5 I think I will settle with that one for the time being...

Ta mate. This is at the Tivoli track in Chuwar just north of Ipswich in Queensland. I spoke to one of the locals, and found out the property used to be the home of Motorcycling Queensland who still own the track. There's info on the track via Moreton District Motocross MDMX.org.au, however apparently this race was the last or one of the last to be raced there as the track is being sold off. It's a shame to lose the track, but there's money to be made I guess and with more homes encroaching on the track closure would realistically be just a matter of time.

Closure of the track is a shame, it's a good spot only 20mins from home for me and no doubt those who rode there regularly will be needing to travel for over an hour to get to another track like this. the replacement track will eventually be located at Willowbank on the south side of Ipswich and with any luck it will be just as good.

Thanks for that. Its not that much further out to Boonah and QMP though is it...another 20 mins or so ? Hows that going these days ?

The Husqvarna shot IS exciting in that its a brand not often seen over here...but those that have one swear by them.
Thanks for sharing.

It's been miserable today, poor light. I drove all the way across the park and back, nothing. I saw a few images to be had on the dog walk and went back for them.

No, Boonah is in a different direction than Tivoli but at least 30-45mins depending on traffic. Still a short trip but I've had little joy with my timing for QMP events other than something for the youngsters which I tend not to bother with. I keep an eye on it though so hopefully something worthwhile comes up soon.

BMCC have some classic MX events at the Mick Doohan Raceway and Harrisville coming up so I plan on getting to one or both of those events.

I've also considered heading up to Jimina State Forest but it's north of Kilcoy so it's a decent trip if there's not much happening other than hoons falling off their bikes. Still, that could be fairly amusement.

In the meantime here's an image captured at 1/160s head on as he's coming off the apex.

Great shot. Makes you wonder about all the AF crap that gets thrown around doesn't it. I know QMP quite well, covered it for a few years.
