Agreed. There's a very thin line between class and nothing but titillation. I think modern romantic movies are sometimes too quick to show a couple disrobing and jumping into bed, or embracing and kissing in passionate frenzy. If you have the time and patience, sometime watch a TV series dramatization called "Wives and Daughters," whose multiple episodes run at least four hours to see (British production, aired on PBS in the USA). It's a masterful example of how to show almost unbearable love between two young people without them ever so much as touching hands right to the very last scene, and their mutual passion doesn't fully surface until the final ten minutes or so of the story. Both M and I were holding our breath at the end.

Sure, LeRoll's gets to shoot the pretty ladies, and I get these with a face only their mother could love... I must have been really bad in another life, or he was really good...

I am always reminded upon reading such a comment of a story-record my sister and I had as kids, a sort-of ugly duckling tale of a creature called (spelling here is a guess) the "chirkengoose." It sings a sad song of being neglected and outcast in which the most memorable line is: "...are the hippopotami any prettier than I? It depends on how you look at things."

I A/B'd these back and forth a bunch on your Flickr page... Really hard call. Then I thought, which would i frame and put on my wall, and the B&W won hands down.
Why you might ask? Because that is a heck of a lot of green space, and it just doesn't go with my home interior.
Funny how the mind works ain't it?

This version is stunning. An exceptional photograph...composition, quality. I would frame it and hang it up. Very well done and B+W suits it well.

Definitely the B&W for me! Just so much better visibility of the subject - and beautiful toning and structure. Lovely!

B&W hands-down. Suits the subject to a "T." Only suggestion: experiment with a little sepia tone. Not sure it would improve the image, but it might give an appropriate "antique" or "classic" look.
