Thanks. I used Silver Efex Pro to develop the black and white version.

Classic shot of the mill (DFA 24-70mm/multiple exposure in average mode)

My Move! (DFA 24-70)

Spinning Wheel (shot at iso 12K, DFA 24-70)

(full size available on flickr)

Fantastic classic shot of the mill here !
I prefer the color version, love your tones as usual.

woods things

Holy mufflers, been playing on the farm a few days and folks posted thousands of photos, I am really getting behind. Gotta start contributing to help so that some lucky person can win that K-1.

Eric, I have a guess about LeRolls: he was a monk in a past life, living in a very remote area & never saw a female...now he is making up for it...
BTW Eric, all your photos recently have been great, your flower & bug shots are up a notch from last year in my opinion.
Rondec, love both those versions of the old mill, I think the woodwork on the buildings provides just the right aspect to the B&W shot to make it special.

Best Regards, Bob

Yum! Seagrass!

smc PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM ƒ/7.1 300.0 mm 1/800 iso160

I'll make one comment as I button up the Manatee shots. If DPR wants to try a new AF test (not CAF), the Manatee might not be a bad option. They stay submerged mostly, and pop up without notice in random spots for a very brief period to take a breath and are gone quickly, forcing you to get the camera pointed in the right direction, tap the shutter to lock focus and try to trip the shutter before they are gone. It all happens VERY fast for such a large lumbering creature. Of course I am joking, the Manatee are clearly Pentax fans and won't want to work for Sony, Amazon or Bezos. heh heh.

Thanks Bobby! This is some of your best close-up work yet. Great composition and exposure, and tack sharp on the f4.5 shot, and still very good on the f2.8 one. Good enough that it made me look at the lens used, and was surprised it was the 24-70mm and not the 120mm 645 lens... The 24-70mm looks like a good jack of all trades. One of those "if I had to carry just one lens" kinda lenses. Well done.

Some local young musicians playing a show last night.
K-1ii & Tamron 70-200

These two are siblings and the kids of Drew Emmitt from the band Leftover Salmon. The sounded amazing! Lots of talent in that family!

This is my son's band, A Generational Thing. Also with two siblings (guitarist and drummer are brothers).

One of my boy. I think they were doing Nirvana's All Apologies. Sounded good too!

lens comparison

Eric, thank you for the kind comment. Forgot to mention to you, a few posts back you told of how you performed a sorta shutter flutter thingy. When I was shooting the warblers I was doing pretty much the exact same thing. The warblers behavior is much like your Manatee appearing for about 1 or 2 seconds then on to another spot. I think my "point to decent capture" ratio was about 40:1. When I read your remark regarding feathering the shutter I thought WOW, so cool.
mattb123, Matt those are nice photos & great addition with the siblings, you have to be proud.
repaap, love that first shot of the star burst sun & path.
First shot taken with the DFA 150-450, second with the DFA 24-70 and third with the old 645 120 macro.
Best Regards, Bob

OH sure, I have to follow Frederic this time & not LeRolls. Very nice series of shots there Mr. Frederic as always.
