It was the flip-locks that caught my attention too. Purchased a Gitzo carbon fiber way back, following recommendations from many photo-friends. "Lifetime guarantee" they pointed out. Right from the start I had trouble adequately locking the smallest leg section, but eventually got the hang of it. Then eventually the two smallest sections started to slip unexpectedly, Could I get replacement friction pads from Gitzo for free? No way. It took me weeks to find a supplier. Dismantled the legs, cleaned everything carefully reassembled with the new pads (plastic instead of the original fiber material). Guess what? First time I used it, the smallest leg section slipped. I can lock it down, but I should carry a Vise-Grip pliers to unlock it again. I have a much older Bogen (Manfrotto) with flip-locks, and an even older Slik with flip-locks, and they are still 100% reliable, and quicker than the #$@@%&!! twist-locks on a Gitzo. NEVER AGAIN!
But as to the image. Nice legs - - on the tripod
