I know you said the frustration was high and the keeper ratio low with the Samyang 85mm F1.4, but, I would assert that it's been worth the effort! I really like what you've been posting.

Thank you, Live View is definitely the preferred way to shoot this lens when wide open. I'm almost regretting the Tenpa 1.22 magnifier purchase I made earlier last week (still to receive it and try it out), but one can't use only the Live View exclusively... can one?

Three from me - all from last Saturday - shot at Brinkburm, Northumberland, UK. The third is a pano of two shots, all are D-FA 15-30. What a superb lens, if you can cope with the weight and bulk.

Thanks for looking!
John

The first picture is evocative of the peace and tranquility of a walk in the country. Really, really like that image.

And you used two stitched photos to reflect the two 'no photos' signs on the front of the doors?

No, probably not, so you better tether to a phone or laptop too!

Hi Bobby - Nice lily! With the lens I recently began to covet too... cropped much to fill the frame??? Just curious.

As to your question...My PhotoShop and ACR combo are a bit long in the tooth (CC 2015) for Pixel Shift so when I do a Pixel Shift, I switch over to DCU (which I absolutely HATE with a passion, which prolly keeps me from doing Pixel Shift more often...)
I haven't followed the current trends for what is the best alternative processing software recently for Pixel Shift, and also look forward to Vincent's reply as to what he likes, because it seems to be working quite well.
Eric
Thank you, this post is the original (very slight crop). And thanks for the reply regarding the PS.
Best Regards, Bob

Most of it depends on the amount of motion in a scene. If I zoom in and don't see any weird artifacts in Lightroom then I just process it there. If I see some then I jump over to Raw Therapee and run it through there to clean it up and generate a 16 bit TIFF image there. Both of these shots were on a very still morning and I just ran them through Lightroom and bumped shadows and did some sharpening there. That was about it (other than cloning out a bunch of power lines in the first image.
