Great luck to spot them but quick action by you & outstanding captures Terry.
Best Regards, Bob[COLOR="Silver"]
Thank you.
Just to add a little to the recent speculation, I had only just upgraded the firmware on the K-1, and grabbing focus so quickly on those birds did surprise me.
The firmware upgrade may have improved the focus, or it may be imagination.
I need to use the camera a bit more to be sure.

Cheers,
Terry

Bit of work for you there, Frederic, hunting down the flowers in your colour treatment - love the result!
Not at all ! I selected by colour, then used the selection as mask. Very simple with PaintShop Pro

Frederic, you just keep on posting those Irix thingy photos and eventually I will give in to desire...and buy one. Also I liked that meal photo...makes me hungry...
It is quite late & I did not wish to post tonight, but man folks are simply posting way to much in a day for me to keep up with. And so many of the shots are great, even the ones not shot with a Irix thingy.
Best Regards, Bob
Thank you Bob !

Your captures are excellent. Here is the best I can post for now. These youngster are just about ready for take off. Distance to the nest is roughly 250 yards measured by a friends range finder. Sure wish I could locate a nest closer. Sat with the lens resting on my knee for 45 minutes waiting for the parent to bring a meal, had an open view to the front; back & right side. Of course the adult came in from the left and I was not quick enough, by the time I took a shot the adult was leaving the nest. Oh well, another day perhaps.
Best Regards, Bob
Thank you,

Good shot for 250yrds! I'm working at about 60 yrds with one and 40 yrds on the other, so the only hard part is waiting.

I'm glad to see someone that else from time-to-time has trouble with PF double posting after a click on the "Post Quick Reply" button. Don't know why that sometimes happens, but it's easy to know when it's likely to happen because the computer's "I am busy" thingy keeps going and going.

The Sigma 180 Macro has required a new level of skill my Tamron 90mm Macro and DFA 100 Macro WR did not require. This lens seems to be right on the edge of what I can handle hand held.
Wow ! Insect porn !

I fixed it. I usually know when it is happening because it takes a long time to post and then if I review the page there are two of the same post there. Not sure if it is on PFs end or my super-slow internet connection here.

Yup. Same glitch I sometimes experience. The computer thingy keeps telling me to "lay off, I'm busy" and instead of the post completing in a second, it takes 30 seconds, a minute, sometimes so long I click off of PF, then when I return, my post has there twice, or commonly the second post contains only the text, not the image. Then it's "edit" and "delete" time.

Fujinon EBC 50/1.4 wide open at the Cathedral of Clermont-Ferrand ... I just acquired this one and have Q-tip tube modified it to full manual. I have not decided whether or not I will file down the aperture tab ... quickly taken before a closing. More later.

Same lens for a shot of Looking Glass Falls. Shot a .4sec exposure.
