Here's a photo that I took today in my backyard garden. Nothing special, just a pot of impatients.

Used my K1 with adapted Zeiss ZF Makro Planar 100mm f/2. Shot it wide open of course. I really like the bokeh that this lens makes.

That's a hard call... my gut says B&W would be better in the long run on that shot, but, I think I'd prefer a different process because you are loosing a little too much of the rain sheeting action on the mountain on the right, it is whiting out.

If you can perhaps try each of the color filter B&W options like maybe the blue or cyan filter might darken the sky and retain the rain while brightening some of the foreground shadows around the trucks etc, it might be better. Well, better is relative, better for me anyway, heh heh. Cool catch, love the double lightning!
(Edit: just looked at the original on Flickr and it's a lot better on my browser and there is more rain detail there for me, hmmm....)

I usually vote for color but for met the B&W is a clear winner. The color is just chaotic but the B&W is full of drama. I think this is, in part, because the B&W draws my yes to the sky faster.
