One of the young ospreys has fledged, was doing laps in and out of the nest this morning, the other is still flapping enough to get some air, but didn't leave the nest...but that won't be for much longer - K-1II & DFA 150-450 (cross-posted)

Once again at the Gooseneck Bends. The original my preferred crop, and converted to B&W using Silver Effects Pro. I think the B&W version de-emphasizes the foreground at my feet. The orange color and sunlight make that element prominent in the color version, but converted to B&W it doesn't draw and hold your eye as much. In the B&W it also recedes a bit = doesn't look as close. Now that it's been converted to B&W which do I prefer? The monochrome looks better than I expected, as it retains more detail down in the canyon than I thought it would. It's a almost a tossup, but I lean a little bit toward the B&W

The B&W caught my eye better. I like the color version too, but the B&W version would make stop while scrolling through the page and take a second look.
