Ho, nice shot! How did you manage to get focus so sharp?
Or did yo use some stacking in PP?
I tried to shoot the red moon eclipse last week but even though I used a Sigma 150-500 at its longest end in crop mode in the K1 I couldn't nail the focus right (even manually), and my final outcome looks murky...
Thank you ! Autofocus, M mode 1/500 F5.6 100 ISO.
It's a 1:1 crop. It depends how clear the sky is...
No stacking, only Topaz Denoise and Detail.

The red moon is an other issue, it is very dark.

In this shot I used manual focus with Live View and zoom.

K-1 and DFA 100 macro
ISO 100, Apertures mainly ƒ11 but some ƒ2.8 and ƒ5.6 as well., AV

I made a raised bed 4 inches deep and 3x8 feet, filled it with black earth and manure and sprinkled some wild flower seed on it It's been one of our favourite gardens this year, Being wildflowers, weeds with nice flowers essentially, they don't need weeding. They are weeds, how do you weed weeds?

The garden...

We don't know what many of them are, I unthinkingly tossed the package.

Right behind the garden a Choke Berry Bush, to help attract fruit eating birds

More to come next time I post, these are about half of today's images.

Very cool! You should have macro material for the whole summer! I've been tempted to buy one of those seed-carpet rolls of butterfly garden seeds... you just prep some ground, roll it out, throw some dirt on it and keep it watered. I just have to find a place the wife will be happy about putting it.

These were advertised as good for humming birds and butterflies. SO far, I've seen lots of pollinators on them, but no butterflies or hummingbirds. I'm not sure if I should concerned about the false advertising.

Which lens are you using?

I use manual focus with the LED viewfinder most of the time (the magnified view is accurate), with the camera on a tripod, and I use a remote shutter release, with the electronic shutter on. But the auto focus is very good for hand held shots. Many variables affect focusing accuracy. I use manual settings to try to manage those. The settings for this photo were f/18, 1/100 sec., ISO 400, with fill flash. There was a slight breeze that affected the accuracy.

Keep using it, it took me a while to figure it out. I learn something new each time I use it.

Floyd.
Hey Botanizer, I'm not far away, over in Medina, also like wild flowers for photographic subjects. Nice work.
