K1 and DA*300 in FF mode.

Felt up to going out to the refuge this morning.
Glad I did.

Milky way and Mars selfie last night.
I've got to out and try some of this astrophotography, I just don't want to confirm that I'm not good at it and may not have the right equipment. Good photo and concept.

First outing after AF adjustment... a 3 shot sequence with my new (to me) 150-450mm. Edit (oh yeah, these are cropped a fair bit, I was on the opposite side of the channel!)I'm still learning it's quirks, but I think it's going to be a keeper in my toolkit.
Told you wouldn't regret getting that lens - awesome series !!

Thanks! I was after meteors but did this since I was hanging around shooting anyway. Got some meteors too but nothing very bright. I like to do these so I'm not coming home empty handed if my main shot doesn't come together like I was hoping.

Thanks Longbow! You were right (and jabobby, and Barry and...and... and... ) I'm a happy camper.

I've got a few more queued up to post I am working on. The jury is still out on the ultimate sharpness... the HD DFA might not be as bright so I'm using a little more ISO but it seems to be almost as sharp as my Tamron Adaptall 400mmF 4.0, but the D FA has a zoom and AF... I am still learning its quirks, and may not be fair to compare yet because I did tend to use the Tamron on a monopod, where the temptation to handhold the DFA is hard to resist, heh.

For handholding the lens, I've been happy with a -1 bias & f8 to help keep the shutter speed at least 1/250, prefer 1/350-1/500 if possible @1600 iso from there work the iso down as light permits.
