Hope you don't mind the quantity, just wanted to show the AF capability... this is not CAF, this is me fluttering my finger on the shutter as I track and require focus as I go...
I may try CAF next time to compare keeper rates and quality.

These are in TAv mode i think... as the varied ISO seems to show... some are better than others, but I wanted to show the whole sequence so people could do an honest evaluation.
This lens is growing on me... (I can hear the I told ya's coming LOL!)

Osprey with breakfast heading for the nest. This all happened pretty fast... he did a quick dive, which I missed while shooting pelicans, did a reconnoiter then made a straight line for home, which was too far to see where he went.

A couple of weeks ago someone posted a shot with a m42 lens with a non infinity focus m42 lens. This lead me to the thought infinity focus isn't that important.
(actually just made me think with 2 of these adapters I can easily use any lens with my m42 bellows, I bought 4 for around €6).

With the m42 135mm jupiter 11a preset lens infinity focus seems to be around 50 feet. or around 28-30x the focal length. This is a handy figure so with an adapted 28mm that makes the furthest focus distance about 84cm and an 85mm a more useful 2.55 meters. A helios 55 mm might do 1.65 meters Personally I find the infinity focus m42 adapters really awkward to switch between k mount and m42 so i've tended to avoid using them along with potential light leaks on narrow lenses. I think this adapter now opens up possibilities for a lot more use

Actually seems I was quite a bit off, I was getting focus on a jupiter 9 at around 27 feet or so around 96 x focal length or maybe close to 100x which makes the math simpler.

D FA 28-105 @ 50mm(ish)

I don´t use this zoom (or any other zoom for that matter) much at middle focal lengths.. nuts, I know . To me they are like two primes in one lens.. more or less. 50mm has been on my mind lately for some weird reason so I had to experiment a little. This is my only modern FF lens after all.. Not perfect examples but here goes:

(48.0 mm, f/4.5, ISO100, 1/80s)

(53.0 mm, f/4.5, ISO1600, 1/80s)

With this shot I zoomed too far.. ~50 would have been better:

(63.0 mm, f/4.5, ISO3200, 1/160s)
